cut edge from surface using persp()

marlene marchena-2
Hi R users!

Is it possible to cut the edges from a surface graph without to cut the axes
using persp function?

I am using the following code:

 op <- par(bg = "white")

persp(phi1, phi2, z,main="Bullwhip generated with AR(2) demand when L=1",
      xlab ="phi1" , ylab ="phi2", zlab ="Bullwhip", theta = 30, phi = 20,
      r=50,d=0.1,expand=0.5,ltheta=90,border = NA, lphi=180, shade=0.75,
ticktype="detailed",nticks=5)

when I put box=FALSE the axes just disappear.

Any help will be appreciated.

Marlene.
